ShadowX IndexNow change-budget workflow

Use a change budget to keep ShadowX IndexNow notifications limited to meaningful updates. This guide treats ShadowX and ShadowX Market search terms as research labels, not as proof that a destination is official or safe.

Classify the release

Separate new pages, factual corrections, link-status changes and presentation-only edits. Assign notification priority only to changes that affect public meaning.

A color adjustment normally does not require every canonical URL to be resubmitted.

Build the exact URL list

Use the final canonical URLs from the release rather than the whole sitemap. Exclude admin paths, previews, query strings and unchanged policy pages.

The list should be reproducible from the release notes.

Validate key ownership

Confirm that the site-specific key file is reachable on the same origin and matches the payload. Do not reuse another property hostname or key location.

A separate key reduces cross-site submission mistakes.

Record and reset the budget

Save the response status, submission time and URL count. Start a new change budget only after another real content update.

API acceptance is a delivery receipt, not a promise that Bing will index each page.
